Intended audience: Stakeholders (implementers, policy makers and researchers) in HIV prevention.
In recent years, enabling environments and structural interventions have been highlighted by PEPFAR, UNAIDS, DFID and other international organizations, most recently as a core component of combination prevention. However, specific practical and implementable tools and guidance for structural programming remain inadequate. The PEPFAR recently launched an initiative to advance the implementation of structural interventions. In an effort to reach consensus on key parameters, identify key barrier to implementation and measurement, and propose ways forward, AIDSTAR-One is leading the development of a series of papers on various aspects of structural prevention interventions, particularly in generalized epidemic contexts, with key thought leaders and country-level implementers.
The satellite will leverage expert authors and key stakeholders, providing a venue for the discussion of pivotal issues |
