The Canadian Drug Policy Coalition fosters dialogue, education, and action that support a paradigm shift in drug policy from our current punitive approach to one rooted in public health, social inclusion and human rights. Outside of sub-Saharan Africa, people who use drugs account for a third of all new HIV infections. In many cases, this is a symptom of perverse, punitive, and destructive government policies. We are working to reduce the harms associated with substance use, regulatory policy and the commerce related to legal and illegal drugs in society. We believe that we can ‘Turn the Tide Together’ and are promoting a unified voice for civil society organizations to achieve this.
