| The purpose of this session is to exchange experiences in and models for the provision of comprehensive health care for transgender and transsexual (trans) persons. Topics addressed include: The impact of gender, legislation, violence, and obstacles to health care on personal wellbeing and quality of life; the health care needs and demands of trans persons beyond HIV and necessary steps for improving and scaling up comprehensive care; the highest attainable standard of health and other human rights; perspectives from and exchanges with other regions.
At the closing of the event, the organizers will present a jointly developed tool for addressing health care needs and demands of trans persons in Latin American and the Caribbean. |
